Questions from the counter
Can the cashier just type in a price?
No. The register requests a price from the server for every line — by till selection, customer group, then branch default, falling back to the item's shelf price. Overrides need a supervisor PIN and are logged.
What's the difference between a held sale, a quotation, and a credit sale?
A held sale is a tab — no stock moves, payment isn't finished, and it can be resumed from any till. A quotation is a formal quote with no stock movement, later opened or converted by a supervisor. A credit sale completes now — stock goes out — with payment collected later.
Do returns affect my sales reports immediately?
Only once approved. A cashier can create a pending return, but reports and refund totals only count returns a supervisor has approved — either at the counter with a PIN or later from the returns list.
Can one branch run retail and pharmacy together?
Retail and restaurant can share a branch, but pharmacy is always solo — it never mixes with another vertical on the same branch. Terminals inherit whichever vertical profile the branch is set up for.
How do wholesale and staff pricing work without separate products?
You create named selling price groups (Wholesale, Staff, and so on) and set a fixed or percentage price per item, per group. Attach a group to a customer, a branch default, or let the cashier pick one at the till — the item itself never changes.
